Former Edmunds.com executive announces the birth of Pameno.com

LOS ANGELES, CA, Oct 25, 2008 – Lev Stark, a former vice-president and content czar for Edmunds.com has announced the creation of a new organization, Pameno.com, devoted to disaster preparedness and management for American families and individuals. Stark said he hopes to create the same success empowering people through information and tools to prepare for the unknown as he did at Edmunds and the auto space.

“I have always been an advocate of building things that help people, “ said Stark. “With my previous work at Edmunds.com, it was about building a brand that served the consumer, rather than the automotive powers that be. While today we have government websites like FEMA that cover the big picture for disasters, we want to zero in on individuals and families. We want to provide a place for them that answers questions on disaster preparedness that’s based on individual needs.”  

"While government focuses on macro disasters," Stark continued, "Pameno will focus on the micro disasters as well, like a home fire, flood or a burglary."
Stark, who will serve as the company’s CEO, said that the idea came to him when he began to develop a family evacuation plan with his children and wife in their Los Angeles home.

 “As I began to plan for my own family’s disasters, I began to see that my solution wasn’t to be found on a government website. By sharing the knowledge that we’ve acquired I hope to help individuals do the same.”

Stark is joined by CIO Yaakov Shaul, a fellow Californian, who is the architect of  the organization’s information infrastructure. Shaul comes to the organization with two decades of experience in Information Technology for multiple companies from Vancouver to Los Angeles. Shaul explained his strategy with IT and utilizing his knowledge and talents to help others.

“We are in this to help people,” he explained, “my goal is to leverage technology and cloud computing to create a robust set of tools to accompany our plethora of content in assisting families in their disaster readiness.”
