China shut down for a day yesterday, in order to mourn the victims of it's recent earthquake in Qinghai Province.

The nation closed all the bars and cinemas for 24 hours, cancelled sporting events, and printed all newspapers in black and white only. China's internet filtering blocked video games from being played as well, and all news channels showed a nonstop loop of black clad newscaster introducing clips of mourners all over China, along with footage of shivering survivors.

More than 2,000 people have been reported dead since the earthquake last Wednesday in Jiegu, China. More than 12,000 have been treated for injury, with an estimated 100,000 survivors left homeless.

Tension is still remains high in the region, where a cold snap has brought snow and freezing conditions in the high altitude area.
